THIRD YEAR THEOLOGIANS READY!

The third-year theologians have completed their one week orientation programme in preparation for Pastoral year (PY), overseas training programme (OTP) and Cross-Cultural experience. This took place at the​ ​Tamale Institute of Cross Cultural Studies (TICCS). They now leave for a few days rest at their home provinces after which they would begin their experiences. We wish you good health and God’s blessing in the days ahead.  ​

FR. MAREK DABROWSKI CELEBRATES 45TH ANNIVERSARY IN VOWS
The formation houses of SVD in Tamale, Ghana, celebrated the Foundation Day of the Arnoldus Family (8th September; Feast of the Assumption of Mary, mother of Christ). To mark the occasion, a football game between the philosophy house (Demetz house) and the theologicum (CFC) was organized. The game kicked off about 2:15pm and came to an expected end at about 4:47pm with CFC carrying the day with two goals to one.
Other activities were joint vespers and socials at CFC. At the socials, the new Rector of the house, Fr. Tomy Kanjiramalayil, SVD on behalf of CFC, welcomed all to the program and encouraged all to feel at home and celebrate the day. Present at the celebration were the other formators of CFC, Frs. Deepak Tegga, SVD the burser and Pierre Avonyo, SVD, the Prefect of Seminarians. The Praises of the Philosophy house, Fr. Benjamin Asare, SVD also graced the occasion >>>

CFC WELCOMES NEW FORMATORS

The common formation centre (CFC) bids farewell to Fr. Alphonsus Asiedu, SVD who has served as the prefect of seminarians for the past nine years. 

He now leaves the house to the SVD Novitiate at Nkwatia Kwahu, Eastern Region of Ghana. Fr. Alphonse Asiedu, SVD, you will forever be remembered for your hard work, discipline, commitment and self-sacrifice to the community. We wish you well in your next assignment.

CFC also says goodbye to Fr. Jacobson Dey, SVD who has contributed so much to the development of various structures of formation in the House. We say, well for all you did to make this house a home for all. We wish you the best in your next assignment
​CFC welcomes Fr. Tomy Kangiramalayil, SVD and Fr. Pierre Avonyo, SVD.
​Fr. Tomy was the Vicar General of the Yendi Diocese in the Northern Region of Ghana. Now, he takes up his new assignment as the rector of CFC, Ghana.
​Fr. Pierre is a seasoned Formator  and an Alumni of CFC Ghana, who has worked in the Brazil North Province for over 12 years. He now assumes the position of Prefect of the house for the next few years. They, together with Fr. Deepak Tigga, SVD would form the Formation team of the house beginning with 2017/2018 academic and formative year.
​Fathers Tomy, Pierre and Deepak, CFC-Ghana, welcomes you into the formation program and wishes you God's grace, good health and fulfilment in your activities.
MINISTERS INSTALLED

The St. Victor’s Major Seminary, Tamale reopened for the 2017/2018 academic and formative year on the 28th August, 2017. However, the year was formally inaugurated by the Chairman of the board of governors of the Seminary, Most Rev. Philip Naameh, the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Tamale who also doubles as the President of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Ghana, on Saturday, 2nd September, 2017. >>>

THE BEGINNING OF THE END​

Seven conferers in CFC Ghana from today, 8th November, 2017 begin their five-day retreat leading to final vows come 16th November, 2017 at the CAMELITE monastery, Tamale. The anxiety of these conferers about their acceptance for final vows and deaconate ordination came to a close yesterday when the Prefect of the house, Rev. Father Pierre Avonyo, SVD broke the news that they are all accepted by the generalate. As they begin their retreat at the Tamale Institute of cross-cultural studies(TICCS), they are expected to return to the house (CFC) on the 15th November, 2017.
These conferers are expected to be ordained deacons on the 19th November, 2017 at the Ola Cathedral by his grace Most Rev, Philip Narmeh, 
Metropolitan Archbishop of Tamale and president of the Ghana Bishops Conference. it is our prayer that they would have a fruitful time with the Lord who has called them to this ministry. These conferers are seven including

 THE PROVINCIAL’S VISIT
The Provincial Superior of SVD Ghana, Very Rev. Father George Clement Angmor, SVD has as his motto, ‘My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.’ (John 5:17). In order to fulfil the plan of the Province to venture into new grounds, he made a trip to Nalerigu in the Navrongo Bolgatanga Diocese, located in the Upper East Region of Ghana. This was to finalise issues in preparation to begin missionary work there, by 2018. On his way back to Accra, he visited CFC to welcome the new Rector and Prefect of the house, Frs Tomy Kanjiramalayil, SVD and Pierre Avonyo, SVD respectively.
He took the opportunity to encourage all young Conferers to keep working hard to uplift the image of CFC-Ghana by ‘ Tough training, easy battle’ He called on the >>>>>>
